A Fond Farewell

Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Arabic. These are all the languages that I have encountered on this journey, and while I cannot say that I have become fluent in any of them, I certainly learned a lot! My last days in Germany were spent watching the community interact with the refugees. The local church arranged tea, coffee, and cake for them. A lot more came then they expected, which was wonderful. Most of them were from Syria, and I think they appreciated getting out and having something to do. The majority are men, but there were also two women.

Darrel and Miriam went to their daughter's kindergarten to teach the kids about Thanksgiving. They shared the history and also had fun reenacting the event with the kids. For a craft they made turkeys out of handprints.

They also taught about Thanksgiving at their "English school" they have at their house every other week. They do this to help the local kids learn English.

My last moments in Germany were spent with one of their daughters, Clara, which was a blast because she discovered the wonders of Photobooth...

The next leg of my journey was a huge whirlwind of travel. Barcelona, Spain was the first stop, which was a big climate change...

Africa was the next stop, and I think I had the biggest culture shock here in Morocco...with good reason after being in Europe! The only reason I was able to have these amazing experiences was because I tagged along with Darrel as he visited a friend studying Arabic. It was amazing how everything fell into place to be able to experience this!

Couscous

We pretty much just drank mint tea, and ate on rooftops...

The Medina, or Old Market Place was probably the biggest culture shock. Everyone was trying to sell us something, and it was very crowded.

Pomegranate seeds!

I must say Moroccan Salads were a highlight.

London was the last stop on this whirwind.

Now in Manchester I am able to enjoy time with a friend, having tea whenever we feel like it...which is all the time!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this amazing journey! I could not have done it without God's strength and your help to get me here!
